4-(4-Pyridyl)pyridinium perchlorate methanol solvate

In the cation of the title hydrated molecular salt, C(10)H(9)N(2)(+)center dot ClO(4) center dot CH(3)OH, the dihedral angle formed by the pyridine rings is 28.82 (15)degrees. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot O and O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds and pi-pi stacking interactions, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.5913 (7) and 3.6526 (7) angstrom. Three O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered over two positions with refined occupancy factors of 0.649 (7):0.351 (7).
