Analysis of China's Construction Industry Concentration during the Transition Period

China's construction industry concentration is not high during the transition period because of the influence of long-term planned system. According to the industrial organization theory, the absolute concentration of construction industry from 1997 to 2006 has been studied with the indexes of CR4, CR8 and CR10. The relative concentration of construction industry has also been compared between China and America with the use of Lorentz curve and Gini coefficient. Finally, from the aspects of effective qualification management system, development guidance of different construction enterprises, reasonable market entry and exit barriers, suggestions are given to improve the industrial concentration.
