摘要
The beneficial effects of Omega 3 fatty acids (25 mg EPA and 130 mg DHA, per day), associated with vitamins (A 200 mu g, D 1.25 mu g, E 2.5 mg and C 30 mg) were explored in hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype obese children. Obese children (10-16 years old) were divided according to the values of serum triglycerides (higher or lower than 110mg/dl) and according to the waist circumference (higher or lower than 90th percentile for age and sex) and two groups were formed. 18 children had both parameters high and formed the HWT group and 28 obese children had both parameters low and formed the nonHWT group. Comparing the two groups, the best rate for improvement was observed in HTW group for insulinemia (p<0.01 versus p<0.05), triglyceridemia (p<0.00001 versus p<0.04), ALT (p<0.009 versus p<0.02). In conclusion, in hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype obese children, Omega 3 fatty acids supplements, associated with antioxidant vitamins reduced insulin resistance and prevent metabolic syndrome and fatty liver development.
