摘要：

Following a description of the stages of fatigue crack propagation the da/dN-AK-curve is discussed putting the focus on a number of parameters such as short crack length, load history effects, notches and environment. Guidance is given to the application of the curve to flaw assessment in particular within the frame of a damage tolerance concept and within concepts of fracture mechanics based fatigue-life analyses which are still under development.
