摘要
Coastal areas are areas of great natural, social and economic significance that have received negative impacts for years caused by industrial, agricultural, pollution, fishing, tourism, among others. The complexity of this ecosystem has driven tools for its sustainable use, constituting the Integrated Management of Coastal Zones, one of the most generalized approaches. In Holguin, Cuba, initiatives have been adopted for Integrated Coastal Management in various sectors; however, they have not been perishable and have lacked procedures that guarantee sustainability and comprehensive management. These elements motivated the realization of the investigation, whose general objective was to characterize the coastal sector of Caletones and propose actions for its integrated management. Several theoretical methods were used, such as: analysis and synthesis, historical-logical, inductive-deductive, and structural systemic, and among the empirical ones: scientific observation, survey, interview, and the criterion of specialists. Among the fundamental results, the application of a procedure structured in phases and steps that allowed the socio-environmental characterization of the sector and the proposal of a program of actions for the 2019-2020 period, as well as laying the foundations for the theoretical-methodological deepening of the Programs, stands out of Integrated Coastal Management in Cuba.
