Intelligent browser for TEXPROS

Browsing is a technique, which is employed in the information retrieval system to help users to formulate their query and to retrieve the information. This technique provides users with capabilities of understanding their information need and gaining system knowledge during the course of the browsing and thus it eases the users' burden of issuing queries. However, a major concern is that the user could be lost when they browse a complex and large network without knowing the meanings of its nodes and links. The other concern is the performance of the browsing technique which heavily lies on the interaction between users and the system. In this paper, we develop a network for browsing by taking into account the dual model of the document processing system (TEXPROS), and a mechanism such that the performance of the browsing can be improved.
