IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine WWRF Journal Series

The Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF) has established the IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine, called WWRF Journal Series. The first journal is based on seven best papers out of more than 60 papers presented at the WWRF 21 forum held in Stockholm, Sweden between October 13-15, 2008. These papers cover a wide range of subjects, such as user requirements, regulatory views, physical layer, networking, and services representing part of the scope of the WWRF. The first article written by Politis is called 'Managing the Radio Spectrum' that focuses on the implications of cognitive radio for the regulatory environment. This includes research initiatives, key research issues, and drivers for realizing fully deployed cognitive radio systems. The discussion in the article also includes the unsolved node problem associated with white spaces, or military bandsharing.
