Integration of small aircraft transportation system (SATS) with General Aviation (GA) - An operational feasibility study

摘要
Small Aircraft Transportation System (SATS) represents an innovative program intended to provide travelers with a safe and affordable travel alternative to current transportation system. This paper attempts to examine the impact of introducing SATS on existing general aviation flow. This study analyzes the operations of the integrated system in identifying and assessing the unforeseen bottlenecks and problems that could occur in the areas of airport congestion, runways and terminals. We adopt Total Airport and Airspace Modeler (TAAM), an aviation oriented simulation software package for this study.
