Bio-directed synthesis, structural characterisation of platinum based metal nanocomposites (Pt/Ag, Pt/Au, Pt/Ag/Au) and their biomedical applications

摘要
Biogenic synthesis of platinum based (Pt/Ag, Pt/Au and Pt/Ag/Au) nanocomposites is achieved in this study by using biomass of Streptomyces sp. B5. The structural and crystalline nature of the nanocomposites was confirmed by x-ray diffraction (XRD), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) and Transmission Electron Microscopic (TEM) analysis. Biosynthesised nanomaterials were found to be spherical in shape and have an average size of 10 to 30 nm. Besides, antimicrobial and anticancer activities of nanocomposites were studied extensively. The present study opens a new route for the bio-directed synthesis of novel metal based nanocomposites, which can be effectively used for different biomedical applications.
