Compact Ka-Band Substrate-Integrated Waveguide Filter with Spurlines for Satellite Communication Systems

摘要
A four-pole substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filter at Ka band is designed for satellite communication systems. The filter contains four SIW cavity resonators which are made of a substrate with metalized via holes. A transmission zero at the low-frequency side of the pass band is produced by the negative coupling that provided by TE102 mode in the second cavity resonator. The selectivity on the high-frequency side is improved by adding a pair of quarter-wavelength spurlines. The filter, having a center frequency of 35 GlIz and a fraction bandwidth of 4%, are simulated on a Rogers RT 6002 substrate with a thickness of 0.508 mm and a size of 11.2 mmx 12.5 minx 0.588 mm. The simulation performance indicates that this SIW filter can provide high selectivity for satellite communication applications.
