Numerical simulation and experimental study of excavation and anchoring support of underground chambers in jointed rockmass

摘要
Based upon characters of a jointed rockmass, this paper simulates the property of large deformation of a large-size cavern excavated in a jointed rockmass and bolting-supported afterwards by Block-Spring method. Then the paper describes the simulation experimental study for the deformability of jointed surrounding rockmass under excavation and anchoring effect, which reveals the varying law of the mechanical behavior of stepwise excavated and bolting supported rockmass surrounding large underground caverns under different initial geostresses. The testing results and the numerical simulating results show basic coincidence in the top failure zone and the motional law of the jointed rockmass during excavation, thus to provide a reliable basis for rational guiding engineering practice.
