摘要
The objective of this work is to understand and evaluate the distribution of von Mises stress in a tooth, in this case the upper molar, at selected points on the tooth surface. In this way, it is intended to understand its structural behavior regarding the application of three loads with different directions, but with the same magnitude of 75N [1]. A force of 75N was perpendicularly applied to the surface of the tooth to simulate an orthogonal occlusal load. The other two forces of 75N were applied tangentially to the surface of the tooth, representing the type of loading caused by bruxism. The three-dimensional virtual model was obtained through computerized medical images (DICOM) which through various software, 3D Slicer (R), Meshmixer (R), FEMAP (R), and FEMAS (R) allowed the numerical simulation to be performed by the finite element method.
