摘要
Additive manufacturing is a technology employed to create a three-dimensional object taking advantage of a Computer-Aided Design. This technology is also known as 3-D printing. This technology can be applied to many kinds of materials such as plastic, metals, alloy steels, ceramics, glass or a combination of any of them. However, currently, there are many talks on metallic materials as the materials employed in the additive manufacturing because metals possess superior physical properties. Moreover, there are various kinds of 3-D Printing techniques that can be applied to metallic materials. Nevertheless, Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is one of these techniques that employ an extrusion-based process which is capable of fabricating metallic parts. The metallic printed part of FDM is called a green part, consist of the powder and binder system. Before this part is used, it requires a post-operation process, such as a debinding process to remove the binder system and the sintering to compress the object so as to be more reliable. The final part is called a brown part which is that mechanical properties are affected by the parameter of process and the characteristic of material. This review paper will present current state of the quality of printed part that fabricating with an additive manufacturing employing the extrusion material techniques, such as fused deposition modeling based on the mechanical properties of final part.
