Researchers report new clues to dementia

Researchers are seeking to better understand dementia's various forms and use this information to devise ways to slow its progression or prevent it altogether. At the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology held in June 2007, investigators presented insights into genes that contribute to the development of dementia as well as new evidence about the effects of secondhand smoke and hormone therapy on dementia.
