A 2 yr experiment was conducted on mixed tall-grass pasture in southwestern Quebec to evaluate the impact of rotational grazing and stocking rate (SR) on pasture productivity and cow-calf performance. Each year, Angus cow-calf pairs were assigned to two replicates of nine treatments arranged as a 3 X 3 factorial of high, medium, and low rotational frequency (RF; avg. 2 and 6 d grazing periods, and continuous stocking, respectively); and high, medium and low SR (1.25,1.75, and 2.25 ac per cow-calf pair, respectively). Hay was made in medium and high RF pastures, and fed based on forage availability.
