摘要：
Bluetongue (BT), an infection of ruminants has been known in Asia since 1959 (Howell, 1963). Bluetongue virus (BTV) belongs to the family Reoviridae and transmitted to various ruminants by Culicoides midges. Although, all the ruminants are susceptible to BTV infection, sheep are most susceptible for the clinical BT infection. BTV infection is widely prevalent in domestic ruminants in India (Prasad et al., 1987). Regarding BTV infection in Gujarat, a comprehensive study was carried out.
