摘要
Collaboration between the public and private sectors is important for promoting the economic development of a country, the adoption of this process being present in a wide range of activities in the field of infrastructure and services. Practicing the public-private partnership in financing the various projects is accompanied by the attraction and promotion of Foreign Direct Investments, these being an important source of private capital and, at the same time, an engine of development through the contribution of advanced experiences. The study highlights the beneficial role of the policies of practicing the public-private partnership with the commitment of Foreign Direct Investments, and the relevance of the involvement of the two sectors in the economy, by the advantages brought (the fulfilment of the investment flows needed for new objectives or for the development of others, the creation of new jobs etc.). The issues of the penetration of foreign capital, through the Public-Private Partnership, in the Romanian economy, is shown, with some examples regarding the impact on some fields of activity. The purpose of the paper was to point out some issues regarding the cooperation of the two sectors, public-private and the effects of their action in the economy, the public-private partnership being an important instrument for attracting and promoting of Foreign Direct Investments. The limits of the survey reside in the fact that the situations presented in the study, supported by concrete examples are representative for the impact of foreign direct investments, without exhausting all the forms manifested, during the analyzed period. The conclusions present, in short, the importance of achieving public-private partnerships by accessing Foreign Direct Investments, with an impact on the development of the economy and of increasing competitiveness in the host countries; noting, therewith, the likelihood of risk that may occur, which implies appropriate measures from the host country governments. The method used to carry out the study was the documentation from the foreign and domestic specialized literature, the synthesis and processing of the relevant ideas, by capturing the interaction - Foreign Direct Investments - Public-Private Partnership.
