Stress-induced polymer migration: Modelling and simulation in simple viscometric flows

摘要
This work presents a continuation of a previous investigation(1)-hereafter mentioned as paper I. As in that paper, the subject of the present work is the numerical simulation of both the concentration and the flow behavior of dilute polymer solutions in two rotational viscometric flows, namely the parallel plate and the cone-and-plate flows. Three different improvements, one in the mathematical modeling, one in the numerical formulation and one in the numerical solution of the problem have been implemented which have significantly improved the accuracy and range of validity of the previous calculations.
