The fate of the Jubilee Line case, which collapsed after 21 months, is sometimes assumed to support the implementation of alternatives to jury trial for long and complex fraud cases. This article is based on interviews conducted with the jurors. Their jury service evidently caused serious personal difficulties and had continuing impact on some careers, but juror comprehension did not appear to be a problem, and the jurors showed remarkable commitment. The jurors' perspective indicates ways in which the experience of long jury service could be improved and jury comprehension assisted by trial management; but it offers little support for proposals to abandon jury trial for such cases.
