摘要
We present an efficient algorithm for measuring the empirical envelope E(t) of the arrival process of an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell stream. A contact transform of E(t) yields the cell rate r(*) (tau) as a function of tolerance tau. The latter function can be used to determine traffic control parameters. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
