摘要
As a part of the present and future generation's responsibility, museum content preservation is crucial. If not maintained properly adverse environmental conditions deteriorate museum collections. For this reason, it is essential to continuously monitor its climatic conditions, either in storage or exhibitions. Regulation of environmental parameters such as luminosity, temperature, and humidity has a significant effect on artefact preservation. This can be achieved with the help of the new technology paradigm Internet of Things (IoT) containing a large network of wireless sensor nodes. This paper presents IoT based environment monitoring system to protect heritage artefacts that control light intensity and monitors temperature and humidity around artefacts using a microcontroller and an android application to ensure good health of artefacts. Contrarily to traditional measuring equipment and procedures used in museums, the deployment of the environment monitoring system can help to measure continuously, on a real-time basis, and in a much effortless and inexpensive way. The developed system adjusts light intensity around artefact automatically to the required range. The android application monitors temperature, humidity and can control light intensity manually if required. For research purposes, all the data is maintained in google sheets.
