Since 1997 a key objective of the Revenue Commissioners' Corporate Strategy has been to deliver high quality customer service and to encourage voluntary compliance. In September 2000, in order to fulfil this objective, Revenue launched an electronic filing and payment service, the "Revenue On-Line Service", (ROS). This paper will focus on the marketing methodology used in the project, the developments and results to date and the benefits to both the eCustomer and to Revenue. It will focus specifically on two services - Income Tax filing for business and Vehicle Registration Tax for motor dealers and distributors. This paper will show how Revenue is successfully progressing in achieving its long term goals of increasing its online business to 75% of all taxes and duties paid and 50% of all business returns submitted electronically by the end of 2005.
