摘要
BACKGROUND: Both psychological wellbeing and quality of life are necessary factors for decreasing the depression rate among refugees. Conditions of the country immigrated to affect immigrants' health status indicators: however, the number of studies conducted on the effects of immigrants' living conditions on their quality of life and psychological well-being is limited. The aim of this study was to determine the factors related to the psychological well-being and qual-ity of life of Syrian refugees living in Turkey.METHODS: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 714 refugees aged 18 and over between February 2019 and July 2019. Data were collected using the Personal Information Form, WHO 5 Psychologic Well-Being Index and SF 36 Quality of Life scale. RESULTS: According to the multivariate regression analysis, the participants' quality of life was positively correlated with the variables such as high level of education, perception of adequate income, perception of good health, having presented to a primary health care institution within the past month (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Of the refugees, 42.0% were depressed. Their quality of life scores were at a moderate level. Refugees with poor social support should be evaluated for quality of life and wellbeing. In addition, psychosocial care provided should be developed to be more supportive, to mobilize social support resources, and to increase psychological well-being.
