Flow injection determination of trace amounts of iodide with spectrophotometric detection by its catalytic effect on the 4,4′-bis(dimethylamino)diphenylmethane-chloramine T reaction

摘要
A simple and accurate flow injection spectrophotometric procedure was developed for the determination of iodide based on its catalytic effect on the oxidation of 4,4'-bis (dimethylamino) diphenylmethane (tetrabase) by Chloramine T in a weakly acidic solution. The optimum analytical conditions have been established. The linear range of the detection is 4-110 ng/mL, with a limit of detection 3 ng/mL. The method has been used to determine iodide traces in water.
