Study on the Total Factor Productivity of Jiangsu Province Based on DEA-like Model

摘要
Jiangsu province plays an important role in China economy, so, the sustainability of Jiangsu's economic growth gets broad attention. Based on DEA-like model, this paper finds that from 1990 to 2004, the total factor productivity of Jiangsu makes increase, and technical progress is the primary motivity. However, the total factor productivity of Jiangsu has apparent character of time difference and district difference. At the beginning of 1990s, it makes rapid increase, but decreases after 1995. Until 2001 it resumes to increase. The total factor productivity, technical progress and technical efficiency of the southern Jiangsu are obviously higher than those of the middle Jiangsu and northern Jiangsu. But from the angle of total province, there is remarkable chasing effect, and the difference of technical efficiency becomes reducing.
