Scholars traditionally attributed to Benito Arias Montano both the autograph manuscript and authorship of the treatise "Declaracion de los Trenos o Lamentaciones de Jeremias", included in MS &-III-19. (Real Biblioteca de San Lorenzo de El Escorial). The two attributions are nevertheless historically mistaken, given that the treatise's author is saint Francisco de Borgia, the manuscript could not have been copied by the Spanish humanist.
