Analysis of the Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence is a technique by means of collecting fluorescence radiation from the sample excited by X-rays, electron beams, or particle beams. On the basis of the energy spectrum distribution, the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the elements and the physical characteristics of the samples were studied. This paper focuses on the principle, circuit design and implementation of the energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence multi-channel pulse amplitude analyzer. It includes the design of pre-amplifier, main amplifier, pulse forming amplifier, pulse shaping amplifier circuit, baseline recovery circuit, peak discrimination and A/D conversion. This article elaborates on how to design the multi-channel pulse amplitude analyzer with the embedded microprocessor PSoC.
