Meshless method on massively parallel processors with application to fracture mechanics

摘要
Free Mesh Method, which is a kind of meshless finite element method, is used to analyze a two-dimensional large scale crack problem and its efficiency in fracture mechanics is investigated. In Free Mesh Method, temporary local mesh is independently generated at each node, and so if only the coordinate data of each node is given, seamless finite element analysis can be realized on parallel environment. In this paper, a plate with a crack in its center was analyzed with more than two million degrees of freedom by Free Mesh Method on parallel processors.
