摘要
In this work, we study the application of UltraWide Band (UWB) Tightly Coupled Dipole Array (TCDA) to support multi-band cellular base stations. The benefits of TCDA to such applications and some system concepts to enable such applications are discussed. The design is carried out and simulated fully in Ansys HFSS software. Its performance is examined against the requirements of cellular base station antennas and found to be promising. This design is capable of supporting 700MHz, 1.7GHz, and 2.6GHz bands simultaneously with +/- 60 degrees scanning in the diagonal plane (D-plane). A physical prototype is being built and the measurement results are to be disclosed at the conference.
