摘要
In this paper, a novel design method for single-mode optical fiber which is fully compliant with ITU-T G.657.B recommendation is proposed. The approach is based on approximation of the modal field distribution with weighted Gaussian expansion. Due to this method, the mode field diameter value is controlled accurately. Also, the bend loss reduction is not resulted to mode field diameter decrement. In the meantime, the designed structures have low nonlinear effects thanks to large mode effective area. Simulation outcomes show that all designed structures, not only have desired mode field diameter and low bend loss at 1.55 mu m, but also are bend insensitive in S+C+L communication bands. Meanwhile from transmission point of view, they are compatible with ITU-T G.652.D recommendation.
