The Spiritual and Moral Values of Rural Youth (Based on Materials of Buriatia and Chita Oblast)

Results of a Russian sociological survey reveal that the profound social and economic crisis in the countryside is having a negative impact on the formation of the values of rural youth. It is leading to such consequences as a decline in the reproductive function; the worsening of their physical health and their social and psychological well-being; a lack of confidence in the future; and anxiety, unemployment, and drunkenness.
