A field experiment was conducted during the rainy (kharif) season of 1991 and 1992 al Palampur, to study the relative performance of Dinanath grass (Pennisetum pedicellatum Trin.) cultivars under varying levels of nitrogen in rainfed conditions. Variety 'JHP 4' of Dinanath grass gave significantly higher green forage, dry-matter and crude protein yields than 'Bundel l' and 'IGFRI 56-1'. Response to nitrogen fertilization was significant up to 90 kg/ha.
