Determination of the size and shape of a sonoluminescent single bubble: Theory on angular correlations of the emitted light

摘要
We present a rigorous theory on the sonoluminescent light flash diffraction by the gas-liquid interface of a single bubble. This theory is subsequently used to determine the shape and size of sonoluminescent single bubbles. We calculate the emitted light angular correlations for several bubble shapes and sizes. The comparison of the obtained theoretical results with the existing experimental data, reported by Weninger et nl., allows us to find the values for the bubble size and shape. We find an excellent agreement with experimental angular correlations for elliptical shape bubbles with 0.2 eccentricity and radius between 1.5 and 2 mu m.
