A novel trap mechanism in coaxial-coupled waveguide filters

摘要
A pole-type filter is proposed, in which the coaxial probe acts as a trap circuit in addition to the conventional filter operation, by adjusting the spacing between the coaxial probe and the waveguide backshort in a coaxial-coupled cutoff waveguide filter. Unlike the conventional coaxial-coupled filter, this filter has a coaxial probe located close to the resonator of the next stage. Therefore, the filter is designed by using a synthesis method in which the effects of the higher-order cutoff modes are taken into account. The numerical results and the experimental investigation of the transmission characteristics of the synthesized filter verify its usefulness. (C) 1998 Scripta Technica.
