Comparative analysis of properties of rapidly solidified foils of Al-Ni-Cr alloys obtained by one-side cooling (melt spinning) and two-side cooling (twin-roller quenching)

摘要
The structure and microhardness of the Al-Ni-Cr-alloy foils obtained by centrifugal melt spinning and two-roller quenching have been studied. A cellular morphology of the free surface, a microcrystalline coarse-block structure, and a (111) texture which is retained upon annealing were observed in the samples. Al3Ni phase particles were found in the initial state in the foil obtained by the twin-roller technique. The microhardness of foils was found to be higher than that of bulk samples. A study of the thermal stability of the foils revealed that their aging occurs in several stages.
