摘要:
Music is born long before it reaches its listeners. Young people are hit and enchanted by ideas which penetrate their bodies and souls and give rise to a great desire to make music regardless of what is available. In Czechoslovakia in the early 1970s, the author of the paper was one of many young people who followed a huge wave of interest in American bluegrass music (even bigger in the Czech lands than in the rest of Europe). Personal memoirs symbolically unite the author with the whole musical generation of the period. The author shares his recollections with readers: the lack of original recordings, the early Czech model performers, the non-existence of appropriate musical instruments, and the urge for information. As a result, the country produced respectable musical bands, a great number of original recordings, and excellent Czech makers of musical instruments.
