Comment on D. Francois-Bongarcon and P. Gy 'Critical aspects of sampling in mills and plants: a guide to understanding sampling audits' and H.E. Bartlett 'Design of primary samplers for slurries in concentrators and statistical methods for measuring components of variance in sampling'
The views of two respected sampling experts on the critical aspects of sampling in mills and the design of slurries in concentrators were discussed. H.E. Barlett has described studies leading to the detection and elimination of bias in a sampler. The level of effort expended on sampling could be expected to depend on the purpose of sampling and related valuation activities.
