摘要：
IPv4 has been in use for several years now, living far beyond any reasonably expected lifetime. Even with various enhancements that have been made available over the years, it has proven time and time again that it is incapable of standing up to any real security threat. IPv6 was designed specifically to overcome the known shortcomings of IPv4, but acceptance within the marketplace has been extremely slow. This paper presents a first look at IPv6 and how it performed in a variety of simulated attacks using several widely available security test tools, many of which are commonly used by hackers to attack systems built on IPv4.
