摘要
We have sought to analyze the modernization of the countryside in the concentrated area of Argentina, particularly in the province of Buenos Aires, based on the diffusion of the technical-scientific services offered to precision farming. The concentrated area is shaped by Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area, province of Buenos Aires, and the center and southern provinces of Cordoba and Santa Fe, whose density of science, technique and information is higher than elsewhere in the country. In the methodology, qualitative techniques were used as interviews and field observations, and secondary sources such as business and government websites. This paper is structured in three parts. The first part we address the issue of global scientific agriculture and precision farming in the concentrated area of Argentina. In the second part we discuss new field-city relations in the urban economy circuits. Here we highlight the key role of the metropolis of Buenos Aires as the seat of the main companies in the upper circuit and hence, in offering advanced services and dissemination of this circuit, and the rise of marginal portions in different cities of the province of Buenos Aires. Finally, the third part examines precision farming technical-scientific service companies in the city of Tandil. The conclusion seeks to emphasize the role of modernization in the countryside and new links with the city related to social and spatial division of labour for precision agriculture services.
