THE REDEFINITION OJ JUSTICE PRACTICES BY INDIGENOUS WOMEN IN GUATEMALA

This article reflects on the relationship of K'iche' Maya women with different justice systems in Guatemala. It analyses the practices and trajectories of three Mayan K'iche' women, "human rights defenders", who accompany the legal proceedings of women victims of violence, moving across indigenous and state justice systems, building "bridges" between them, aiming to legal practices. We seek to establish the extent to which this interlegal circulation in fact enables indigenous women to demand their rights.
