Life cycle management - new short-lived management method or sustainable recipe for success?

In the post, the initial costs often were overrated, whereas consequential costs for maintenance often were underestimated when making investment decisions. But in order to take the right decisions allowing total costs to be minimized, all costs incurred during the various stages of the life cycle must be known and considered. Due to the fact that the life cycle costs of long-lived and wear-intensive plants are not primarily determined by the purchase price but by the purchased use reserve and the type and scope of maintenance, a sustainable optimization of costs can only be achieved by continuous improvement of maintenance.
