摘要
The design procedures for dissipative steel beam-to-column joints in seismic loaded frames lack reliable models for predicting their behaviour under cyclic conditions because the extensively used component method (CM) allows accurate prediction of only their monotonic behaviour. This paper proposes an extension of the method to include cyclic behaviour and presents the stepwise development and implementation of the cyclic component method (CCM). The objective is to validate the method for use in a wide variety of joint configurations while maintaining full compatibility with the CM. A complete application example of the developed CCM is shown for an end-plate steel beam-to-column joint, highlighting the level of accuracy achieved so far in the simulations of the cyclic behaviour of joints. The study performed shows promising results and good prospects for new developments, which are identified from the evidence of the results obtained for the application example. ? 2021 Elsevier Ltd.
