A Micro-Mechanical, Statistical Model of a Random Assembly of Rigid Disks under Quasi-Static Deformation

摘要：
This micro-mechanical, statistical approach to the mechanical behavior of granular materials is based on a two-dimensional, random assembly of pieces of regular arrays of rigid, cohesionless disks. Despite its extreme simplification, the model exhibits the main features of the behavior of real three-dimensional materials under imposed, quasi-static deformation.
