摘要
Low temperature catalytic oxidation was employed to remove ammonia from a gas stream. A novel catalyst, based on rare earth elements, was developed successfully and employed to treat simulated waste chemical gas with ammonia. The characteristics of the developed catalyst were studied and its catalytic activity was researched under different conditions such as inlet gas temperature, inlet gas concentrations, catalyst temperatures and contact times. Results show that the method employed in this work can give impressive treatment effect on the removal of ammonia when the contact time is only 0.2 second and the reaction temperature lower than 150 degrees C. Lifetime experiments, poisoning experiments by water steam, and thermal stability study of catalyst were also performed to check the catalyst robustness.
