摘要
social media has created new opportunities for learning for both the students and faculty. Its cost-effectiveness, ease of use, and abundant content availability are some of the reasons for the popularity of social media among students and faculty. This article presents the popularity and usage analytics of different social media platforms. Data was collected from a sample of 1787 respondents (1578 students, 209 faculty). The study explored which are the most popular platforms used by teachers and students in higher education; based on their familiarity, use in communicating and use for teaching and research purpose.
