摘要
This work aims to discuss once more the tension between the hate speech circulated through the Internet and the defense of Human Rights. As the object of the research, the hate speeches against the Muslims in Brazil were analyzed, as opposed to the affirmation of belief freedom in Brazil. It is based on the finding of declaratory and normative documents that have repeatedly affirmed religious freedom and of thought, in competition with the contemporary media, which foments the threat to religious freedom, what consists specifically in the hate speech propagated by the Internet in disfavor of some religious beliefs. The hypothesis is this hate speech has its effectiveness in ignoring the social body in relation to its object. As grounds for the discussion, this work highlights religion as an inseparable component of human societies, since it simultaneously reduces complex issues of ontology and deontology and functions as a technique of social control. It investigates whether religious pluralism in Brazil corresponds to the introj ection of the value of religious freedom. In the end, it examines the legal instruments for the protection of freedom of belief in combating hate speech, proposing a subsidiary element of protection of human rights.
