Finnish ViSCoS for international audience: Challenges of contextual extension

摘要
In ViSCoS e-learning study program, Finnish students can study the first year Computer Science studies through the medium of the web. A total of 109 students have completed the ViSCoS program between the years 2000-2005. Currently, most of the students come from the eastern part of Finland. Therefore, more efforts have been put into expanding the studies to other parts in Finland. The most challenging task, however, is to extend ViSCoS studies towards international audience. This requires new solutions and designs both to the technical and pedagogical architecture of the program.
