摘要:
The Vegetarian is a serial novel written by Han Kang, who is a modern Korean female writer. With Yeong-hye being the heroine, The Vegetarian narrates the miserable and tragic life of her and her family members. Their painful experiences are caused by human violence pervasive in daily life. Ethical order and ethical ideas penetrate human life and violence is usually hidden in the ethical order and ethical ideas; violence demonstrates itself through ethical conflicts or choices. The Vegetarian focuses on the traditional ethical order and ethical ideas of modern Korean families. It illustrates the hidden domestic violence between the family members. To this end, it has introspected the ethical choices and ethical tragedy of different characters in the context of domestic violence.
