Microstrip Patch antenna is one of the most important members of the antenna family, due to the advantages of compact size, sample-processing method, low cost and high quality. In order to realize the true 5G wireless communications, new antennas are required for working frequency band obtained by the three Chinese operators covering three 5G bands, including 2.515-2.675 GHz, 3.4-3.6 GHz and 4.8-4.9 GHz. This paper introduces a new design by modifying the structure of ground plane and changing the step-impedance resonator (SIR) to achieve a ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna. It covers three 5G bands. The S-11 parameter is below -10dB from 2.32 GHz to 5.24 GHz, which can also cover WiFi, Bluetooth and WLAN applications. The gains of the designed antenna are 2.52 dBi, 3.04 dBi, 4.31 dBi at the frequency of 2.55 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 4.75 GH, respectively.
