摘要
2 vol.% ZrB2/2024Al nanocomposite with a hierarchical microstructure was successfully fabricated by hot extrusion and T6 treatment. Experimental observations reveal that most ZrB2 assembled into fiber-like nanoparticle-rich bands and others were uniformly dispersed in the matrix. As expected, the unique structure resulted in remarkable strength improvement as compared with the matrix alloy, e.g., yield strength increases by about 26.9%.
